Getting started
- In Settings, set your trainer level and the leagues you play (the welcome setup asks for these too).
- Scan your Pokémon: screenshots of the appraisal screen, or — much faster — a screen recording (below). Upload them on the Scans page, from your phone's browser.
- Look at Collection: every Pokémon has a verdict, and you can copy an in-game search for any filtered list.
- Use Planner to spend stardust, and Raids for raid teams — its Current raids tab ranks this week's bosses by what a catch would add to your collection, for PvP or raiding.
Screenshots and recordings
A screenshot: open a Pokémon, tap the menu → Appraise, wait until the three bars have filled, take a screenshot.
A screen recording (best for many Pokémon): open a Pokémon, tap Appraise, start your phone's screen recording, then swipe left or right through your Pokémon — the appraisal stays open — pausing about half a second on each. Stop recording and upload the video. A 30-second recording covers about 20 Pokémon.
- Recordings are large (around 200 MB a minute). Keep the browser in front until the upload reaches 100%; after that you can lock your phone, and the Scans page shows the progress.
- Swiping too fast (two Pokémon without a pause) isn't lost: it becomes an item to review.
- Recordings are deleted once scanned; only the frames used are kept. Uploading the same file again is recognised and skipped.
- Each account has upload limits (file size, how much waits to be scanned, how much a day) and room for a set amount of images; Account → My data shows how much you use. A refused upload says which limit it hit.
- Which phones work? iPhones with a tall screen are calibrated. Others may need calibrating — the welcome setup's phone check tells you, and can send a sample to the site admin.
Staying up to date
- Once: record a swipe through your whole Pokémon storage. Pokémon already in PogoRev just come back "unchanged", so overlapping never hurts.
- Daily: the Scans page shows Caught since your last scan — paste it in the game's search, record a swipe through the results, upload. Screenshot trades separately (they keep their original catch date), and anything you power up, evolve or purify.
- Weekly: Collection → TRANSFER → copy the search → transfer them in the game → tap I transferred these in the game (undo right after, or restore one later under Collection → Transferred & traded).
What the verdicts mean
- BUILD
- Worth powering up for PvP: the species is in the meta of one of your leagues and its IVs are near the best possible.
- KEEP
- Good for PvP, but not a priority to power up.
- RAID
- Not a PvP keeper, but (or its evolution is) a top raid attacker of some type, with good IVs.
- COLLECT
- Your best copy of a species you'd otherwise have none of (also: a shiny, Dynamax, Gigantamax or Mega Level you asked to keep).
- REDUNDANT
- Good enough, but you already own enough better copies for every league it fits.
- TRANSFER
- Safe to let go.
"Rank" is the IV rank by stat product in a league (1 = best possible); "%" is how close yours is to rank 1. Shinies, luckies and other specials appear in the Showcase whatever their verdict. Thresholds are in Settings.
Reviewing scans
Clean readings go straight into your collection. A scan waits under Needs review when the scanner isn't sure — several Pokémon fit the CP and HP, it might be one you already have (an evolution, a purified shadow, a twin), or the frame was caught mid-swipe. Open it, check the reading against the image, fix anything, and confirm. Fixes teach the scanner where it goes wrong.
FAQ
- Who can see my Pokémon?
- Only you. Other members can't see your collection. Friends see which of your spare Pokémon could be worth a trade to them (species and shiny, never IVs) — switch that off on the Friends page. The site admin runs the server and can see account usage. More on the privacy page.
- Does PogoRev touch my game account?
- No. It only reads screenshots and recordings you upload; it never logs in to Pokémon GO or automates anything.
- A scan read something wrong.
- Open it from Scans (or from the Pokémon's page) and correct it; the Pokémon is updated.
- I transferred Pokémon in the game.
- Filter them in Collection and tap I transferred these in the game, or open one and set it to transferred. They're listed under Transferred & traded, where you can restore one marked by mistake.
- An old scan says "Image no longer stored".
- Images of Pokémon you transferred or traded are deleted after a while to save space. What the scanner read is kept, so uploading that screen again is still recognised.
- How do I start over?
- Account → My data → Reset my collection.
